Why Live in Eagle, Idaho?
When fortunes of gold were discovered in Boise in 1862, so did the start of Eagle’s history. Some of the people continued to search for their wealth while some realized that their wealth was in having a nice place and land to call home and to thrive. Truman C. Catlin was one of those who chose to acquire 160 acres of land in 1863. She chose to name it “Eagle” because of the many bald eagles that can be seen flying around the area.
From 350 population in 1970 to its current population, it only means that Eagle is being recognized as a place where one can settle down. It has emerged into a beautiful city with many amenities such as shopping, local restaurants, parks and a close proximity to the Boise River. Plus, it is only minutes away from Boise. Currently, pocket parks are being required to enhance the quality of life the city wants to give to its residents.
The crime rate here is also very low and is considered a safe city. Utility costs are super low compared to other states as most of the electricity is sourced from numerous dams in the mountains, as well as the Snake River that provides inexpensive hydropower.
Despite the “rurban” coined term given to Eagle, Idaho, it was picked up by the locals positively as it has described perfectly their lifestyle. They are indeed living in a rural area with a lot of farming and vegetation but they are also enjoying the convenience of the modern facilities which help make their lives easier. Locals love the small town aura it gives off as everyone is friendly, helpful and thoughtful.

Eagle has access to top-ranking schools as it is part of the West Ada School District which is known to have notable awards. It has a total of 25 schools - 9 public schools and 16 private schools. Each of the schools are active to help their students become better achievers in both academics and in sports.
