A message from MERIDIAN JOINT SCHOOL DISTRICT 2
The new school will open with kindergarten and first graders living in the Lochsa Falls square mile
After a successful bidding process that will allow the school district to build the first phase of Willow Creek Elementary, the new school will open next fall with classroom space to serve all of the kindergarten and first grade students living in the Lochsa Falls square mile.
In addition, the school will have a computer lab, multi-purpose room/cafeteria, computer lab, a Special Education classroom, and central office space. In the fall of 2014, additional classrooms will open to serve the school’s students as they move up in grades.
Ultimately, the school will be identical to other recently built schools like Paramount Elementary, Hunter Elementary, and Prospect Elementary.
The school’s attendance area is the square mile in which the building sits. The northern boundary is Chinden; the western boundary is Ten Mile; the southern boundary is McMillan; and the eastern boundary is Linder. Nearly 600 elementary age students live in this square mile currently. For the foreseeable future, the students who will attend Willow Creek will be able to walk to their neighborhood school.
